New Eldar Bomber and Much More
Yesterday in the rumor mill, Stickmonkey is letting go of what models we should expect for 2013 for both Eldar and Orks. In the works there is mention of a couple new units not seen before for 40k, including a new Eldar Tank, New Eldar bomber, and more.
Please remember that these are rumors.

Cooooo
ReplyDeleteI still don't get the Flash GITZ and Tankbustaz combo. Will they be changing the GITZ.from Nob stats back to Boyz again? That will invalidate my 20+ converted ones...
ReplyDeleteNice, what did you use for the conversions? Can't beleive you weren't tempted to just buy the ONE model GW released for flash gitz 20 times :)
DeleteI've used nobs with cybork pieces and various spare guns to form their weapons (for more dakka!)
Delete@Rau: They didn't release that to "cover" the Flash Gitz. It was designed to be a one-off, collector's edition model.
DeleteI have one of those, too :)
DeleteI really like this warp gate terrain.... Eldar as tau allies may have some serious potential next year
ReplyDeleteGood riddance to spam! There's a lot of this that sounds a bit off to me - a larger-than-dreadknight sized Avatar? Forgeworld's not good enough? That being said, moar Dark Angels!
ReplyDeletethe avatar is almost already as tall as a dreadnought.
DeleteRumor says dreadNOUGHT not dreadKNIGHT....
DeleteI thought the last rumor concerning the avatar said it was going to be smaller that the current model. I might be mis-remembering that though
DeleteThere was a rumoured young king miniature, a regular sized person avatarised!
DeleteYeah, I realised that after. Still, I've always been confused about how small it is, at first I thought it was quite large and was a finecast box rather then a blister.
Deletehmm, concerning the Orks, I'd really like to see the rumored Flying Fortress ... sounds like an awesome model, please let it be real =) Grot Gliders, funny idea ... but...
ReplyDeleteNow you're tempting me to ork up a B-17 model! I'm already looking oddly at old MiG 21 kits for ork figjters.
Delete( any noise about new Tau kits?)
Hownowbrowntau
Larger than Dreadnought...I would expect something around the size of a Dreadknight. The large oval base monstrous creature niche filled. And I would expect Greater Deamons to be on that size base as well.
ReplyDeleteAnurien
CyBorks? What about CyMorks? Or CyGorks?
ReplyDeleteBut Stickmonkey still continues to put out rumors at an astounding rate.
Either these are good rumors or Stickmonkey is an astute reader of 40k trends. Flyers and big models (new avatar, the Mega Mork/Gork). Certainly fits with what we saw with the chaos space marines release, the rumors about enlarged greater daemons, the grey knights nemesis dreadknight, etc. I must imagine that anything on a big oval base is good for business as these big kits go for big prices. Though they are also fun kits to work with.
ReplyDeleteGah! I can barely read these anymore. Getting pretty famished for some new Eldar lovin.
ReplyDeletestickmonkey is a liar. i was told so by lots of warseer's rumourmongers (and admins)
ReplyDeleteThat remains to be seen. The fact of the matter is that he's been the only one lately natfka has been posting. If it weren't for Stickmonkey we wouldn't have much to talk about lately now would we?
DeleteYou don't really need to be "told", since everything he says is hopelessly vague ("Two existing aspects..." "Either HQ or unit upgrade..." "New tank..."), which suggests that, you know, he doesn't actually KNOW anything. Yeah, Eldar probably are getting a new tank. Anyone could tell you that. They haven't had a codex update for six years; of course they're getting new stuff. He's probably "right", but only because he's shooting fish in a barrel.
DeleteSeriously, the reason we've been discussing Stickmonkey's "material" a lot lately is because GW have clamped down on leaks very, very well, so the only "leaked" info we get more than a month or so before the release date is speculation that's passed off as "early playtest rumours" when it turns out to be incorrect.
Seriously, the guy has single-handedly made the Warseer "rumour" forums a joke. There's no point in trying the follow the threads there anymore, because they're all clogged up with Stickmonkey's garbage, and then when real rumours come through, as happened recently with the Dark Angels and Chaos Space Marines stuff, they get pooh-poohed because they aren't what fandom wants to hear.
I for one appreciate Stickmonkey, and think that if Warseers admins are saying that, they are the ones looking like idiots with little understanding of rumors. (I doubt they really are saying that and they would be foolish to do so and worse than a fool to admit it to people if they did).
DeleteRumors are rumors, and Stickmonkey has had plenty of success in the past, and if they did indeed throw stickmonkey out, its too bad for them, and its their loss.
Right now the long time mongers harry, hastings and others, are ignoring 40k and playing with fantasy mostly right now. From what Harry has said in the past, I doubt he would get caught up any of this heavy drama.
Mega Gork/Mork... A walker somewhere between a deff dred and a stompa? Or even a demon of said gods to give Orks a monstrous creature >:D
ReplyDeleteOrks already have a large tank (battlewagon) and a variety of flyers, monstrous creature would be my mad bet, although I just love the idea of a giant rampaging ork powered by all the boyz in awe of it's krumpin' skills :P
Maybe a Squiggoth or something, like the one from forge world?
DeleteSo excited about Eldar!
ReplyDeleteHopefully the aspect will be a long-range anti-tank unit, ala Shadow Spectres, but not just one good shot per turn.
I mean, Eldar have specialist anti-horde close combat (scorps) anti meq close combat (Banshees) anti-elite close combat (Spears, though could use a buff) Anti-vehicle Close combat (Hawks) long range anti-infantry (Reapers) short range anti-infantry (Spiders) and short range anti-tank (Dragons). Just add long-range anti-tank and we're set.
An aspect for every task at hand. Especially if you let Hawks go hunt flyers... ;)
And that's what an Eldar army should be. You can buy only aspects and get every base covered. Or you can buy Guardians and get more oomph, but less bang for your buck. Ie. Aspects should be extremely cost effective at what they do, whereas Guardian-crewed things should be more expensive, but generalist.
A Prism is a good all-rounder, as is the Falcon or the War Walkers. Customizable, but not really super effective against one single thing.
Oval based ork walker similar to csm forge/mauler fiends one shooty one crumpy
ReplyDeleteThey just came out with finecast wraithguard. Why would they bother redoing them in plastic?
ReplyDeleteWell if the rumors are true they are doing this with warriors of chaos chosen... They just put them into finecast and are Sopossedly making a new plastic combined kit for them when the book comes out
DeleteI had the same thought.. it all seems very vague, and then includes plastic models for something that only just came out in finecast.. I think this particular list is dubious to say the least.
DeleteI said the same with Flamers of Tzeentch, surethey weren't brand new finecast, but they were the only Finecast kit I can think of that went to plastic. I'd buy some plastic Wraithguard for sure though.
DeleteThey preety much did the same with raptors; bring out a finecast kit, then make it a plastic kit with another unit option in it. I'm hoping for Wraithguard with a close combat wraithguard option *fingers crossed*
DeleteJust shut up, take my money and give me my plastic MANz
ReplyDeleteThe models are super old. Multi part plastic wraithguard yes please
ReplyDeleteWould love to see plastic wraithguard as it finally means I can have a squad without having to remortgage my house!
ReplyDeleteI am interested to see what new stuff we get but more importantly the existing units need to be sorted out. Looking forward to the aspect warriors keeping their unique roles and anti flyer would be a great one for swooping hawks.
I can see me dumping a lot of cash gws way when this codex comes out. Best start saving now!
I know I am.

Looks like this pushed Tau back another year... Looks like the next update will be Codex:Tau Empire (7th edition)
ReplyDeleteTau are probably the next xeno book to get a complete overhaul honestly eldar would do fine with some new units and wd rules for them they dont need help just good generalship. Tau need choices which every other army in 40k has and they dont. Only 2 elites!!. And they are the 2nd oldest book after templars
ReplyDeletePlastic Buggies! New Defcoptas! Time to take this Waaagh! up a notch!
ReplyDeleteThis is very good for the eldar we havent been updated since 4.0
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of that orks need some monsterous creatures but if those squigagoth rumours are right we'll have one. i was pondering that it could be some kind of sangauniary preist/dark apostle kind of thing?
ReplyDeleteSaving my $$$ for Eldar. Either they release some new stuff and I buy it, or I get to save my money. Can't lose.
